🐟 Bombil (Bombay Duck) – 

Bombil, commonly known as Bombay Duck, is a soft-bodied fish found mainly along the western coast of India, especially in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Despite the name, it’s not a duck but a lizardfish species. Bombil has a delicate texture and is usually enjoyed fried or dried. It is famous for its strong aroma when dried and is considered a delicacy in coastal cuisine.

बोम्बिल किंवा बॉम्बे डक हा एक मऊ शरीराचा मासा आहे जो प्रामुख्याने महाराष्ट्र आणि गुजरातच्या समुद्रकिनाऱ्यावर आढळतो. हा मासा खरं तर डक नसून लिझार्डफिश प्रजातीचा आहे. ताज्या बोम्बिलचा स्वाद मऊ व रसाळ असतो आणि तो तळून खाण्यास अतिशय चविष्ट लागतो. वाळवलेला बोम्बिल त्याच्या तीव्र वासासाठी प्रसिद्ध आहे आणि कोकणातील खास पारंपरिक खाद्यपदार्थांमध्ये त्याचा समावेश होतो.
