Description
🌶️ Spicy Khekda (Crab) Curry – खेकडा करी
Ingredients:

Fresh Khekda (Crab) – 1 kg (cleaned and cut into pieces)

Oil – 4 tbsp

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
-
Curry leaves – 10–12
-
Onions – 2 medium (finely chopped)
-
Garlic – 8 cloves (crushed)
-
Ginger – 1 inch piece (grated)
-
Green chilies – 3 (slit)
-
Tomatoes – 3 medium (pureed)
-
Tamarind paste – 2 tbsp (or soaked tamarind extract)
-
Red chili powder – 2 tsp (adjust to taste)

Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
-
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
-
Garam masala – ½ tsp
-
Salt – to taste

Fresh coriander – for garnish

Water – 2 cups
Instructions:

Heat oil in a large pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add curry leaves.

Add chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until onions are golden brown.

Add pureed tomatoes and cook until oil separates from the masala.

Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add tamarind paste and water; bring to a boil.

Add crab pieces, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes or until crab is cooked and the gravy thickens.

Sprinkle garam masala, stir gently, and cook for another 2 minutes.

Garnish with fresh coriander.
Serve hot with steamed rice or bhakri!
