🍤 Crispy Fried Mhakul (Squid) – माकूळ तळणे

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Mhakul (Squid) – 500g (cleaned and cut into rings)

  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp

  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

  • Salt – as per taste

  • Rice flour or cornflour – 3 tbsp (for crispiness)

  • All-purpose flour (maida) – 2 tbsp

  • Oil – for deep frying

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the squid:
    In a bowl, mix cleaned squid rings with lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Let it rest for 20–30 minutes.

  2. Prepare the coating:
    Mix rice flour, all-purpose flour, and a pinch of salt in a plate.

  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan on medium-high flame.

  4. Coat the marinated squid rings in the flour mixture evenly.

  5. Deep fry the squid rings in hot oil until golden brown and crispy (about 3–4 minutes). Don’t overcrowd the pan; fry in batches if needed.

  6. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

  7. Serve hot with lemon wedges and green chutney or ketchup.
